CHILDREN saw red, white and blue at a Cotswold day nursery last week.

Youngsters at Winchcombe Farm Day Nursery in Upper Tysoe flew the colours for Red, White and Blue Day 2015 which encourages people to wear the colours of the Union Jack for the day and donate £1 each to support service families through three national military charities — Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, ABF – The Soldiers Charity and the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund.

Children and staff at the Shenington Road based day nursery got into the spirit of the event and decorated their rooms with Union Jacks, making red, white and blue paintings and icing cakes and biscuits.

Nursery manager, Rachel Giorgio, said: “The children had lots of fun with the various red, white and blue themed activities we had lined up for them and we hoped to have raised a good amount of money to donate to this extremely worthy cause.”
