A MAN has reportedly been stabbed and mugged under a Stourport bridge today (Sunday, April 24).

The incident is believed to have happened in the Millfield Estate, off Hartlebury Road, in Stourport between 2.30pm and 4.30pm this afternoon.

Officers from West Mercia Police are thought to be searching the area for two white men, over 5"10 tall and aged in their late teens to early 20s. The area has been sealed off as investigations continue.

On their Facebook page, Stourport Neighbourhood Watch posted: “There's been a mugging and stabbing in broad day light under the bridge by Millfield Estate in Stourport, theres a big man hunt ongoing.

“If anyone has any important please call the Police on 101, or if required urgently on 999. Between the hours of 14:30 and 16:30 24/04/16.”

Residents commenting on social media have been left shocked by the incident.

Sue Myers said: “Good grief, I saw the person on a stretcher but did not realise what had happened. Literally at the end of our garden.”

Debs Steele: “My daughter tells me that someone has been mugged and stabbed. I hope they are okay.”
