KEEN snappers are being encouraged to send in their favourite shots of local wildlife to be included in the Webb’s annual calendar competition.

Judges will be looking for photographs of anything from residents’ own gardens, to local flora and fauna, while for the first time, members of the public will also be able to vote for a number of entries via social media.

The competition is also being opened this year to photographers under the age of 18, who will compete in a separate category for one of the 12 spots in the calendar.

Entry for the competition closes on Monday June 6, and Webbs Garden Centre in Wychbold will be holding an exhibition of the winning entries in September, ahead of the 2017 calendar going on sale in autumn

Garden centre chairman Ed Webb, said: “We are surrounded by such beautiful countryside and gardens in Worcestershire that we don’t need to go far to capture some fantastic images. It may be a photo taken in your own garden or from when you were out walking or visiting somewhere special. We always have a great response to the competition and are looking forward to seeing this year’s entries.”

The competition is open to amateur photographers or enthusiasts, and entry forms are available from the Webbs stores in Wychbold or West Hagley, or they can be downloaded from webs.co.uk.

12 winning photographs will be chosen to be included in the calendar with each winning photographer credited for their work. Winners will also receive Webbs gift vouchers, and copies of the calendar to give to friends and family.
