POLICE say they are still investigating the circumstances surrounding a crash in Hanbury Road, Hanbury, when a Ford Fiesta ploughed through the front of a cottage.

The incident occurred at around 1.40am on Sunday and left the cottage, owned by retired ITV weatherman John Bannister, uninhabitable.

A person purporting to be the driver contacted police on Monday.

A spokesman for West Mercia Police said today, Wednesday: "A woman has been reported for driving without due care, for failing to stop and failing to report an accident.

"Police are still putting their own reports together and no charges have yet been made."
