BROMSGROVE has the highest number of business start-ups outside of London, according to new figures released by StartUp Britain.
The research showed that 29 in every 1,000 Bromsgrove residents started their own business between January and June.
Bromsgrove MP Sajid Javid said: "I was absolutely delighted to hear of this record achievement.
"In Bromsgrove, 29 people for every 1,000 residents started their own businesses between January and June. This goes to show that Bromsgrovians really are at the heart of the Midlands Engine.
"Our entrepreneurs are indispensable for the economic growth of this country.
"Since my election six years ago, I have had the pleasure of visiting many of these start-ups and have been impressed with their unique contributions to the local economy."
