AN out of control bonfire had to be extinguished in Kidderminster this morning (Saturday, August 13).

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from Bewdley station were alerted to and attended the incident in Usmere Road at about noon.

The firefighters were able to bring the blaze – which had spread to a nearby hedgerow – under control using a hose reel jet.

Earlier this morning at about 10.59am, crews from Stourport and Kidderminster Fire Stations attended a boat which had caught fire in Stourport.

The fire, which involved an electrical converter, was out on arrival. The crews then isolated the electrics.
