THE heartbroken parents of Jason Westcott have paid a touching tribute to their son following a court verdict.

Jason, 22, who was originally from Weston-super-Mare, was discovered unconscious on the A451 Ringway in Kidderminster just after 5am on November 15, last year.

He was taken to hospital with head and abdominal injuries and later died.

His parents, Mark and Kelly Westcott, paid tribute to a son who they said "will always be our best friend".

A statement said: "As parents we are proud to say that Jason was far more than just our son he was and will always be our best friend.

"Someone recently said that if Jason could fit 48hr into one party night he would, he loved mixing and was always making new friends.

"He loved and was proud of his family, he would be the son who would call home and arrange taking his Mum and Dad out to say thanks for all we have done for him."
