TICKETS are selling fast for this year’s Bewdley Festival, which will see the Rutles, Anne Reid and Miles Jupp descend on the district.

The 29th Bewdley Festival, which will take place between October 7 and October 16, will also include a visit from Antiques Roadshow’s expert Andy McConnell, historian and royal biographer Kate Williams and violinist Matthew Trusler.

A number of shows are already sold out and organisers are encouraging residents to order their tickets soon to avoid disappointment.

Dave Collins, festival director, said: “In the evenings, Miles Jupp is sold out and Andy McConnell, Anne Reid and opening night with the Rutles are not far behind.

“Tickets are still available for TV historian Kate Williams, Judie Tzuke, DJ and broadcaster Andy Kershaw, Ashley Wass’ piano recital celebrating Shakespeare and party night with Our Friends Electric.

“Both early morning events, the journey by film to Florence and the Uffizi Gallery and local Radio 4 naturalist, Brett Westwood, each have only a handful of tickets left.

“In the afternoons, Max Keen is sold and Lesley Smith is not far behind.”

Tickets for Bewdley Festival are available in person from the Bewdley Tourist Information Centre, in Load Street, or by calling the Worcester Live Box Office on 01905 611427 between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Saturday.

Mr Collins added: “Give some thought to the great line-up for October’s Bewdley Festival. Several friends have commented recently that they have been so busy they haven’t got round to booking their tickets yet.

“If that includes you, now is the time to make your choices. There are tickets available for most acts, but some are very near to selling out, so it is time to choose so that you have something great to look forward to in October when summer is behind us.”
