A CANCER charity's is encouraging Worcestershire residents to get involved in a charity fundraising initiative being held this October.

Breast Cancer Care’s the Big Pink is taking place during Breast Cancer Awareness month.

The charity is encouraging people to get together with their friends, family, neighbours and colleagues to raise vital funds to support people with breast cancer through any fundraising method possible - as long as it's pink themed.

Previous fundraisers have included wearing pink clothes on dress down days at work and on nights out with friends.

The main fundraising day is Friday, October 14, but fundraisers can be held on any day.

Fiona West, community fundraising marketing officer at Breast Cancer Care, said: “We are so excited that the Big Pink is back, we hope local people join us and host their own events.

"It’s vital that our services remain free and with your help this Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Breast Cancer Care can continue to provide emotional care, support and information to those who need it.”
