A REDDITCH father who died when his car collided with a lorry on Alders Drive blacked out at the wheel, a court heard.

John Francis Dyer, of Ibstock Close, Winyates East, died after his black Nissan Qashquai collided with a white Mercedes lorry on April 25.

Mr Dyer lost control of his car, crossing into the opposite carriageway, where he collided with the other vehicle and died at the scene.

An inquest at Worcestershire Coroners Court in Stourport on Monday, September 26 found the 44-year-old died as a result of the accident, after suffering multiple injuries. 

Mr Dyer was a loving father to Aiden and Natasha, and a loving husband to Lisa, his childhood sweetheart.

Speaking following his death, wife of 26 years, Lisa, said: "He loved helping people and was regularly fixing computers, cars, phones and lawnmowers.

"He enjoyed working on his cars and loved his Land Rovers. John spent a lot of time in his shed and in the garden, he would help anyone and would never say never.

"John will be sadly missed by his family and friends."

A sales rep in Redditch, John was said to love his job as he enjoyed meeting new people and travelling around.

An inquest into his death was opened on May 5 and closed on Monday, September 26.
