AN annual event celebrating the best of producers on both sides of the county border is set to take place in Kington tomorrow.

More than 80 stalls will be offering visitors to Kington Food Festival a variety of food, drink and gifts including charcuterie, patisserie, fish, meat, chocolate, fudge, preserves, oils and dressings.

The event is free and there will be free parking in the market town throughout the day.

White Heron Drinks will be serving up their cassis at a pop-up cocktail bar and the Kington museum will also be open all day offering Christmas crafts.

Food will also be on offer from the Beefy Boys, supporting Oak Tree Stoves and their traegar grills, and the al fresco chefs cooking pizzas in their Alpha Pizza Ovens.

There will be events for children, including a visit from Father Christmas at the Kington centre/library, with Christmas story readings and cooking activities including gingerbread decorating.

Street music will keep visitors entertained as well as a western swing band, local choirs singing Christmas carols, Ben Laws saxophoney yes you guessed it on his saxophone and not forgetting the ever popular Geof Rodgers.

The event takes place on Small Business Saturday and will be a celebrating of the independent shops on the high street.

It takes place in Kington town centre between 9.30am and 3pm.
