BRIERLEY Hill’s Christmas lights switch-on will be chimed in by church bells tomorrow (Saturday December 3).

The bells will be rung at St Michael’s Church just before the switch-on at 5pm by the Deputy Mayor of Dudley and Father Christmas.

The church will also be hosting its Christmas tree festival and craft fayre from 11am to 2pm.

Other festive entertainment and activities in the town will include carol singing by Brierley Hill Musical Theatre performers from 4.30pm around the Christmas Tree in front of Brierley Hill Civic Hall.

There will also be a Teenage Market at the Moor Centre from 10am to 4pm with young people running stalls selling a range of goods.

Young entertainers will also bring their musical talents to the stage throughout the day and Brierley Hill Musical Theatre members will perform songs from their pantomime, Cinderella.

A craft fair will also held be at Brierley Hill Civic Hall from 1pm to 4pm and Father Christmas will be there in his grotto.

Finally a carol concert will be staged at the Civic Hall starting at 6pm.

Councillor Mohammed Hanif, Mayor of Dudley, said: “Everyone has come together in Brierley Hill including the traders, churches, Dudley Council for Voluntary Services and charities.

“I hope that everyone has a great day and gets a chance to visit all of the attractions that the community has worked so hard to put together.”

Youngsters can also follow a trail around local businesses in the town to find handmade woollen sheep from the nativity story throughout the day.
