AN elderly man suffered multiple injuries after he was involved in a crash with motorbike at the weekend.

West Midlands Ambulance Service and West Mercia Police were called to Minster Road at around 5pm on Saturday (January 21) to reports of a crash between a pedestrian and motorcyclist. 

A spokesman for WMAS said: "An elderly man, the pedestrian, suffered multiple injuries in the crash.

"He was given pain relief, oxygen therapy and immobilised by ambulance staff before being taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, in Birmingham.

"The motorcyclist, a 19-year-old man, suffered a facial injury and neck pain.

"He was given pain relief and immobilised before being taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital."

Two ambulances, a paramedic area support officer, a MERIT trauma doctor and the West Midlands CARE team attended the incident. 

A spokesman from West Mercia Police added: "Police were called to a report of a crash between a motorcycle and a pedestrian on Minster Road on Saturday (January 21).

"The pedestrian - a man believed to be in his 70s - was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with serious injuries.

"The motorcyclist was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital."
