A KIDDERMINSTER couple will be putting on their dancing shoes as they compete in Strictly Worcestershire later this month.

Karen and Andy Haynes have been rehearsing to perfect two dances which they will compete with in the competition, which takes place at the Chateau Impney, in Droitwich, on Thursday, May 25.

The competition raises funds for charity each year, with this years money being donated to the Rory the Robot Appeal and Worcestershire Prostate Cancer Awareness Group.

Andy said: "It has been a real challenge for us both, but so much fun - lets hope it will be alright on the night."

Karen added: "It is so wonderful to raise awareness for such good causes, each and every couple brings something different to the night and I think this is something we are going to treasure for a long time."

The pair have been rehearsing at Talking Props Performing Arts Studio, based at Youth House, in Bromsgrove Street - with the company having designed and taught both dances.

Michael Neri, principle of Talking Props, said: "I am bias in saying it, but Karen and Andy are one of a kind.

"It is so rewarding to see two people grow and grow each week in their ability and confidence, they are giving up so much of their time each week to come in and rehearse their routines, they are passionate for both the cause of the event bit also what they are going to bring - its going to be spectacular."

Since Strictly Worcestershire launched in 2014, it has raised thousands of pounds for the Worcestershire Breast Unit Campaign and Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer.
