A LATEX factory site in Stoke Prior is set to be turned into 203 new homes, bringing more than 400 jobs to the town.

The sale of the Polymer Latex site in Westonhall Road to developer Barratt Homes has now been completed, after Bromsgrove district planners gave the scheme the go-ahead in April last year.

The development work is expected to underpin at least 400 jobs, including contractors, as well as training opportunities for apprentices in construction.

The new two, three and four bedroom homes are set to go up for sale at the beginning of 2018.

As part of their community contribution, Barratt Homes West Midlands will be pumping more than £445,000 towards education, and other local services, set to be announced soon.

Adrian Farr, managing director of Barratt Homes, said: "We’re very excited about transforming the site in Stoke Prior into much needed homes for the Bromsgrove area and as part of our work we will help provide towards essential facilities and services for people who live in the local area.”

Remedial works on the site, which includes clearing the existing factory units, is expected to take at least six months to complete and is expected to start this summer.
