AUTHORS will be signing books and chatting with readers as part of an Evesham festival event.

Evesham Festival of Words is in its second year with organisers calling on fans across the vale to attend the formal opening of the official festival bookshop at The Almonry in Vine Street from 7pm on Friday June 16.

Sue Ablett, the Festival’s Chairman, said: "We’re so lucky to again have the Almonry’s support in hosting the festival bookshop, which provides a fantastic facility for the Festival’s contributing authors to showcase their work.

"On the night, authors will be on hand to sign copies of their books, chat with readers and give that all-important insight into how they embarked on their writing careers, where they find their inspiration and how they arrange their writing day to fit in with the regular commitments that we all have.

"We hope that aspiring authors and anyone who enjoys a good book will join us at The Almonry on Friday 16th June for a fun night out.”

The bookshop opening is preceded by an optional literary walk, led by local author, Nigel Barnard.

Starting in the Market Place at 5.45pm, visitors will be guided along the town centre trail of landmarks, buildings and places that feature in Mr Barnard's latest crime novel, ‘Beyond all doubt’.

Entry to both the literary walk and the bookshop event is open to anyone, complimentary refreshments are available during the bookshop launch and both events are free to attend.
