A PSYCHIATRIC report has been ordered to establish if a Kidderminster man is fit to plead on charges of having two knives and an axe in a public place.
Daniel Bebb-Jones was remanded in custody following an incident near his home in Merton Close, Kidderminster, on June 18 this year.
Three counts of having a bladed article in a public place were put when the 23-year-old appeared in front of magistrates on June 21.
Judge Nicholas Cole adjourned the case for a psychiatric report when Bebb-Jones appeared at Worcester Crown Court this week (July 24).
A further hearing was scheduled for November 3 to determine if he is fit to plead and the judge also set a provisional date of November 22 for a two day trial subject to the findings of the report. Bebb-Jones was further remanded in custody.
He was arrested by armed anti-terrorism officers and West Mercia Police near the Territorial Army Centre in Birmingham Road, Kidderminster, on June 18.
As part of the investigation, homes were evacuated in Merton Close and a 100 metre cordon put in place as police and bomb disposal officers carried out a search of his home.
The drama caused shock in the quiet cul-de-sac with residents confirming that Daniel is the son of Marcus Bebb-Jones – a professional poker player who was jailed in America in 2013 after he admitted killing his wife Sabrina in 1997.
