A KIND-HEARTED schoolgirl has donated 15 inches of hair to a charity after dedicating two years to growing it to the right length.

Evie Blackshaw. aged 15, decided she wanted to make the generous gift to The Little Princess Trust, a charity that gives real hair wigs to children suffering from hair loss.

However, the student from Bowbrook House, in Peopleton, near Pershore, waited for two years to ensure her hair had grown as long as possible before she made the gesture.

She finally went for the chop last Saturday at Avant Garde hairdressers in Worcester, where hairdresser Charley Matthews offered her services on her day off.

Mum Charlotte Heaume said: "She wanted to do something so she grew it for an extra two years.

"She's had about 15 inches chopped off and has raised more than £400 so far. She's a really kind girl.

"She won a school award last year because she's so kind-hearted.

"She has friends her own age but is very good at encouraging the little ones too."

Evie said: "I've always had really long hair.

"I was tired just having it in a knot constantly.

"I decided that I wanted to get it cut and instead of having it cut gradually I decided to just go for it.

"It's something I've always wanted to do to give it to charity to help somebody else have a wig or a chance to feel more confident."

"I love my new haircut."
