THE six month effort to find out what people want for their town will close this weekend.

Pershore people can give their views on what they want to see in the Pershore Town Plan at the Plum Festival on August 27.

On that day, the project team can be found in Abbey Park near the bandstand ready to take comments and suggestions.

There will still be a chance for ideas to be sent in to the website, www.Pershoretownplan.com, and for theses to be taken into account.

By the end of the consultation phase, there will have been more than a thousand direct and detailed contributions from individuals who live in the town. These will be summarised and analysed to identify common themes and proposals.

In addition to the public consultation, organisations, clubs, businesses, schools and public services such as medical practices and the NHS have been contacted and many meetings held to discover what their plans are for the local area.

From the end of the month, the five theme groups, local economy and tourism; health, wellbeing and community support; transport, infrastructure and the environment: arts, culture, sport and leisure will get down to the job of creating a set of recommendations to guide what happens in the next fifteen to twenty years.
