A MAN was hurt after a lorry overturned whilst it was being loaded with a skip in Worcester this morning (Friday).

The driver suffered a cut ear and chest pain.

It happened at about 8am on a building site in Fleetwood Lane, Worcester.

Two fire engines from Worcester and one from Droitwich were sent to the scene, as were an ambulance and a paramedic officer.

The crews found that the driver had freed himself from the cab before they arrived.

He was treated on the site for a cut ear and chest pain, before being sent to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for further treatment.

The lorry belongs to the Gloucester-based company Smiths.

When contacted, the firm confirmed that the vehicle was theirs, but said they could make no further comment whilst an investigation into the incident is carried out.

A tipper truck also spilled its load at around midday after overturning near Rushwick.
