POLICE have today named the woman whose body was found in the river near Bewdley.

Beverley Gibbings was discovered in the water in Highley on Sunday, October 29 by members of the public.

The 48-year-old was last seen in Highley days before she was found and her death is not being treated as suspicious.

A spokesman for West Mercia Police said: “A body of a woman that was found in the river in the Highley area near Bewdley on October 29 has been formerly identified as Beverley Gibbings.

“Beverley was last seen in Highley on October 25.

“Next of kin have been informed and police are not treating the death as suspicious. A file is being prepared for the coroner.

“We ask that people respect the family's privacy at this difficult time.”
