THE annual garden waste collection service restarts in Wyre Forest next week.
Residents’ fortnightly collections will begin on Monday, March 5, for those that are week one and Monday, March 12, for week two.
The subscription will run until the end of November for week one customers and the start of December for week two customers.
Green-fingered residents who haven’t yet signed up for a garden waste collection can do so throughout 2018.
The service costs £46.50 for the year, payable by annual direct debit, with a £20 signup fee for new customers. This includes grass cuttings, hedge and shrub clippings, weeds, cut flowers, leaves, twigs and bark.
Councillor Rebecca Vale, cabinet member for operational services, said: “The garden waste service has become more and more popular with residents.
“Having a Garden Waste collection can save you time, money and the inconvenience of taking your garden waste to the tip – you will also do your bit for the environment.”
The council is also offering an £8 discount on vehicle MOT’s for current and new garden waste customers.
Existing garden waste customers and people who sign up for brown bin collections before Saturday, June 30, will pay just £30 for an independent MOT from the council’s team of qualified mechanics.
Income generated from both garden waste and MOT’s will be invested into front-line council services.
