MICHELIN Star chef Brad Carter will be teaching shoppers at Webbs at Wychbold the secrets to expert seasoning.

Chef Carter will be hosting live 'Meat & Eat' food masterclasses at the Worcester Road garden centre on Sunday, June 10 to celebrate his partnership with local producer Droitwich Salt.

Droitwich Salt owner Will Kerton has collaborated with the star of BBC's Saturday Kitchen to produce a new range of flavoured artisan salts - named Charcoal, Sea Truffle and Coastline - which will be exclusively sold at Webbs award-winning food hall.

Charcoal is inspired by ancient British forests while Sea Truffle is collected wild from British rock pools and beaches.

The flavoured salts are now used by Chef Carter in his Michelin Star restaurant, Carters of Moseley.

Chef Carter said: "I was intrigued by the purity of Droitwich Salt and its provenance which is why I decided to start using it in my restaurant.

"Each of the flavoured salts has been carefully created to reflect this. I love to support local producers and Droitwich Salt is a real gem in the Midlands' food crown.”

Bromsgrove Advertiser:

Guests to the Meat & Eat event can dig in to a variety of summer dishes, prepared by Webbs head chef using the new Droitwich Salt products.

Chef Carter will showcase how he uses the most humble of cooking ingredients to add new flavour profiles to food in two two-hour live demonstrations.

Will will then explain the history of the product, its purity and production methods.

Will told the Advertiser: "It’s great to have such a well-known chef champion our product and recognise its quality and the depth it can add to cooking.

"Many people are nervous about using salt in cooking but as Brad shows, a little goes a long way and can totally transform a dish.”

The event will also see master butcher Nigel Buxton, from Webbs' food hall, demonstrate the best ways to prepare and season meat for maximum flavour.

Ed Webb, owner of Webbs at Wychbold, said: "We are honoured to welcome Chef Carter to Food at Webbs and share his passion for cooking with this salt. It is a real testament to its quality and we’re proud to stock it in our food hall.”

The sessions will start at 10.30am and 2pm. Tickets cost £22.50. To book, visit webbs.co.uk/food.

The new range of Droitwich Salts are available to buy online or in-store.
