A HEREFORD man died as a result of industrial disease, an inquest has heard.
Tracy Godsall died on February 10 at his home in Cross Keys, Hereford, following a lung cancer diagnosis last year.
The inquest heard that Mr Godsall died peacefully surrounded by his family.
Coroner Mark Bricknell said that on the balance of probabilities, exposure to asbestos during the 82 year old’s working life had contributed to his condition.
Mr Godsall retired in 2004 and during his working life he had been employed as a pipe fitter and blacksmith amongst other jobs.
A post mortem found that his condition was consistent with symptoms of asbestos exposure.
