Acting Headteacher Peter Wallace was delighted at excellent examination results for the Sixth Form students at Dyson Perrins CE Academy.

He was particularly pleased with the outstanding results achieved in academic A-Levels which were a significant improvement upon previous years despite the more challenging content and the more difficult linear assessment regime.

Maths and Science were amongst the highest performing subjects with 83% of students achieving an A*-B in A-level Maths, 50% achieving A*-B in Further Maths and 100% of students achieving an A*-B in Chemistry.

The best performing students included Paige Pollard who achieved 3A* and an A grade and is going on to study Mathematics at the University of Exeter, Frances Green who achieved 2A* and 2A and Grace Nethaway who achieved 1A* and 3A both of whom are going on to study Medicine at the University of East Anglia and University of Manchester respectively.

Students taking vocational subjects continue to flourish at Dyson Perrins.  The current Year 13 are the first cohort to sit the new Applied General Qualifications which were redesigned to make the vocational qualifications more rigorous.  Despite pass rates in these qualifications falling nationally, students at Dyson Perrins continue to achieve fantastic results, achieving an average grade of a Distinction, the highest grade available.

Acting Headteacher Peter Wallace said: "Once again it is really great to be saying farewell to our Year 13 students knowing that they have produced some fantastic results, enabling them to pursue the next stage of their careers. We are immensely proud of them and the successes that they have had, supported and encouraged by their subject teachers from the Academy. We wish them well, and look forward to welcoming back the next generation of engineers, teachers, doctors and entrepreneurs amongst others, in a few years’ time through our thriving alumni network.”
