PIRATES will be the theme of the day as the castle’s popular ‘Children’s Wednesday’ takes place for all young would-be swashbucklers.
Youngsters can dust off their pirate fancy dress and see who will be the best Jack Sparrow or Red-Handed Jill on Wednesday May 30.
Set sail with Captain Barnacle on his hilarious pirate pantomime show, jump aboard the Jolly Roger pirate ship bouncy castle and have a go at some arts and crafts. Entry to the pirate activities is included with castle admission.
As well as enjoying the pirate celebrations, young visitors can also play on a huge new fun fort in the adventure playground at Sudeley Castle this half term.
Children can explore the different levels, hide in various secret corners, tackle the climbing wall and whizz down the slides and zip-wire. An adventure trail and cradle swings will keep the little ones happy, while older children can take-on the 10-piece obstacle course.
Sudeley Castle’s general manager, Wendy Walton, said: “Our pirate-themed day is set to be a fun-packed event and we look forward to welcoming all budding young buccaneers to Sudeley Castle.”
Next month, the fabulous Cavalry of Heroes return to Sudeley Castle to put on an amazing display of heroic action with their joust shows. The event takes place on Sunday June 17.
As well as the impressive jousting displays, King Henry VIII will be joined by ladies of his court to oversee the event and give his approval. There will also be a fantastic falconry flight display and visitors can also see the birds resting before and after their performances. Entry to the event is included with castle admission.
Sudeley Castle’s newly refurbished exhibition is also now open, telling the 1,000 year history of the site. The exhibition is open daily and entry is included with general admission.
