An exhibition by members of Herefordshire Art and Craft Society (HACS) is currently running in the Gallery space at The Courtyard, where it can be seen until January 3.

The exhibition, entitled Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, and the work represents life old and new, either 3D, Sculpted, or in relief and uses a combination of new, old and borrowed materials. The work gives a sense of the newness of life and the fact that we all get old – time is just borrowed.

HACS members were given a choice of three briefs to work from, which were set by the Courtyard, one of which was "a direct response to a piece of work by a famous artist".

Lorna Stevens chose to do a piece called 'Brothers' after Pieta by Michaelangelo. (see attached)

The Exhibition was opened by the society's president, Sir Roy Strong, who was very complimentary about the talent of the exhibiting artists.

HACS is a community of 70 artists, which has recently secured its own based at the HACS Arts Pavilion, Widemarsh Common.

The exhibition runs until January 3 during Courtyard opening hours.
