COLWALL Orchard Group is holding its traditional Mistletoe Fair this weekend.

The group will be offering mistletoe in decorated bunches of various sizes, as well as a range of individual balls, outside Colwall Provision on Saturday from 9.30am.

Also available will be wreaths, holly and fir cones in various sizes for Christmas decorations.

Tim Dixon, chairman of the group, said: "We harvest mistletoe sustainably as part of our winter tree rescue programme, so buying our mistletoe and our other orchard-based products supports our work in your local orchards."

The mistletoe fair is also a chance to stock up on apple juice, preserves and other Christmas gifts, all hand made by orchard group members.

Helen Stace said: “We make our preserves from orchard and hedgerow fruit around the village. Our range varies according to the harvest, but redcurrant jelly, medlar jelly and quince jelly are always popular, to go with the Christmas cold meats.

"We ring the changes each year, so our new lines this time will be dried apple rings and beeswax cling cloths made from our orchard beeswax. Come and see what takes your fancy.

"To top it all we will be serving apple juice and mince pies to sustain you whilst you make your choice - what more could you ask for?”
