HEREFORD FC's army of voluneers have cleared the Edgar Street pitch of snow ahead of Thursday’s FA Cup replay against Fleetwood.

In a message to fans tonight, club director George Webb said: "Monumental effort. Thank you everyone who have helped."

Ten centimeters of snow remained on the pitch this morning following Sunday’s weather.

The snow was left on the pitch yesterday to act as a blanket for the pitch during last night’s freezing conditions.

Anybody able to help was asked to meet at Edgar Street from 10am this morning and bring their own snow shovel if possible.

The club said through its Twitter account: “We need an army of volunteers throughout today to help remove snow from the pitch.”

And they answered the call in their droves.
