A HOTEL in Ross-on-Wye on the banks of the River Wye has been put up for sale.
Wilton Court, which dates back to the Elizabethan era and was once used as the local magistrates’ court, is on the market for offers over £1 million
There are 11 letting rooms and a restaurant, as well as a private two-bedroomed cottage for the owners.
The west wing of Wilton Court was built in 1500, while the north wing was added in 1700. What is now the library was once the courthouse. The restaurant is in the new conservatory wing.
Peter Brunt, a director in Colliers International’s Hotels Agency team, said: “Our clients bought the hotel in 2000, and have over the years invested in the hotel to ensure it is well cared for and in an excellent position for their successors to take over and drive forward.
“Looking to the future, the vendors have approval in principle to construct a new home in the garden, which would free up the existing cottage for commercial use subject to the usual planning consents.”
