WELLINGTON Heath parish council is seeking the opinions of villagers concerning Bloor's plans for 625 homes off the Bromyard Road, with only one access point.

Wellington Heath has two major access points off the Bromyard Road, near to the proposed development, at the turns for Beggars Ash and Burtons Lane, and last year parish councillors voiced fears about bottlenecks, especially during rush hours.

Parishioners have also raised fears about the routes to the village being used as rat runs, by motorists avoiding Bromyard Road bottlenecks, when the estate is built.

Bloor recently submitted amended plans to Herefordshire Council.

But the single access idea remains on the table, with the exception of a second access point, also off the Bromyard Road, and for the emergency services only.

The access for public use would be in the form of a roundabout.

Wellington Heath parish councillor, Marc Low, posting on the village's official website said: "The parish council will be reviewing this latest development and I’m sure will make their opinions known in due course.

"The parish council would also be interested in your views and comments and these can be forwarded to any of the parish councillors, or emailed to me in the strictest of confidence at whparishnews@gmail.com where I can pass these on to the parish council on your behalf."

Comments about the proposed development can also be emailed to Herefordshire Council planning officer, Roland Close, at rclose@herefordshire.gov.uk

The plan for a major new estate to the north of Ledbury viaduct is part of the Core Strategy, which is Herefordshire Council's planning blueprint for Ledbury for the next two decades.

Bloor has submitted its amended planning application and Herefordshire Council planners are currently seeking more information.
