A LUDLOW charity that works with young people to give them support and provide opportunities has a new face to join the team at its town centre restaurant.

Working Together, a charity supporting adults and young people with learning disabilities, has appointed a new Manager for its Café on Fish Street in Ludlow.

Fiona Calderwood has joined the team and is making a big impact, already introducing some new delicious items to our vegetarian menu.

The Café provides supported work placements to Working Together members, who are involved in all aspects of the daily operations, front of house, food preparation, soup making, baking and forward planning. Fiona said,

“I’m really pleased to be a part of Working Together,” said Fiona Calderwood.

“It’s a great local charity. At the Café we offer good quality food and drinks to our customers whilst at the same time offering positive opportunities for our members to learn independence skills and to be part of their local community.” Working Together was founded by Richard Geuter more than 15 years ago.

“Richard retired at Christmas and is taking a much earned rest.

“The work of the charity continues under the leadership of Nicola North and the Trustees with exciting plans for the future aided by an Awards for All grant from The Big Lottery.” #

Richard Geuter has guided Working Together to become a well known Ludlow Venue.

Working Together is open Monday – Saturday 10am – 2pm (closed Thursdays). To find out more, or can offer any time to volunteer at the café then please get in touch by phoning 01584 878925 or emailing nicola@workingtogetherludlow.co.uk
