FOUR garden sheds were broken into on the same Kingswinford street last weekend, sparking a police warning for householders to be vigilant.

Power tools were among the items stolen from the four sheds on Fairlawn Drive overnight on Saturday night heading into Sunday morning.

A police spokesperson added: “In May, there have now been eight offences of this nature in south Kingswinford and Wordsley.”

Ian Barton, neighbourhood inspector for Dudley West, appealed for residents to ensure their sheds are secure.

He said: “Over the weekend, we have seen an increase in garden sheds being targeted with garden power tools being stolen.

“The crimes have been committed overnight. Entry and exit points appear to have been via the back gardens themselves.

“Please can I ask you all to review your security measures, review your CCTV and keep your eyes open to anyone who is out and about overnight and report any suspicious activity to the police.”

Anyone with any information on the thefts or anyone witnessing any suspicious activity can call police on 101.
