A HANDBAG and cheque book were stolen in a distraction burglary in Evesham Road, Norton, Evesham.
At around 3.40pm on Wednesday a man knocked on the door of an elderly resident asking for a drink of water.
The man is described as young, with a moustache and wearing a beanie hat.
He said that the home owner's gate was smashed and asked if they wanted it repairing.
After the male had left, the victim found that a handbag and cheque book were missing.
The handbag contained a purse with a small amount of cash, bank cards, various loyalty cards and a metal tape measure. The victim believes the man left described as a big silver car.
