A man has been airlifted to hospital with as yet, unspecified injuries.

The crash was near to Blackminster Middle School, but no children have been injured according to the school.

A car crashed into a coach, and it is the car driver who was airlifted to Coventry and Warwickshire University Hospital.

He had to be cut free by the fire service.

The road is set to be closed for a few hours, whilst investigations take place.

A tweet by Evesham SNTs tweeted: "Birmingham Road Blackminster currently closed due to an RTC.

"Please ask officers at closure best way to get your children into @BMiddleSchool."

Blackminster Middle School tweeted: "We're hoping that both drivers are OK. So lucky that our children weren't involved."

The coach was on the way to collect children for a trip to France. The visit had to be delayed until after 10am because of the crash.

The school added: "French trip will be leaving between 10 and 10:30 - all students currently watching a film in the hall."

Evesham police also praised pupils at the school for how they dealt with the situation.

They said in a tweet to the school: "The stranded children we stopped here were very polite and a real credit to your school. If you could pass on our thanks."
