A FOLK singer will perform in Evesham.
Young Somerset singer/songwriter Kitty Macfarlane brings her distinctive sound to Evesham's Folk in the Foyer session on Thursday June 28.
A rising star of the folk scene, she makes music that's charged with a sense of place often her home county of Somerset and links everyday life to larger concerns.
She is described as "an exciting young talent" by The Guardian.
Ms Macfarlane was a BBC Young Folk Award semi-finalist in 2015 and she has since released an EP and toured nationally with award-winning duo Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman.
Her debut EP Tide and Time received outstanding reviews, airplay on Mark Radcliffe's BBC Radio 2 show and from BBC 6 Music's Tom Robinson.
Named as an associate artist of the National Centre for Folk Arts, she has also won the backing of the English Folk Dance and Song Society for her songwriting.
This is the latest of Evesham Arts Centre's Folk in the Foyer concerts, bringing a wide variety of both new and traditional folk music to Evesham.
Later concerts are scheduled to feature Sam Carter, Steve Tilston, Daria Kulesh & Jonny Dyer and Clive Gregson
The music starts at 8pm. Tickets are on sale priced £10 from Evesham Almonry, Abbey Road, WR11 4BG 01386-446944, online from www.eveshamartscentre.co.uk - or at the door.
