THIRTY-eight Vale ladies tackled challenging windy conditions in an 18-hole greensomes stableford competition.

Deb Langham and Julie Newman prospered with 32 points followed by Clare Bunn and Imelda Stapleton with 29 on count-back from Mary Yates and Pauline Hawkins.

There were 35 members involved in a nine-hole stableford.

Silver: 1 Lyn Robinson 19 points, 2 Pauline Laight 16; Bronze: 1 Ruth Aitkenhead 18, 2 Val Perfect 15 (on count-back), 3 Shona Rollins 15.

Copper: 1 Gill Mitchell 21, 2 Pat Hird 20, 3 Jill Parton 15.
