THE Wychavon Sports Quiz League began their 30th anniversary season with the first round of matches.

Newcomers Bredon Social began with a 74-48 win over Evesham Casuals, while the return of Exhall has put champions Angel Vaults on red alert.

Both started with wins over Bengeworth Dons 94-78 and Pershore 97-69 respectively.

Stalwarts Elmley and Overbury did battle with the latter coming out on top, 81-73.

Five players hit maximum points in the form of the Angel’s T Hartland, K Grove and P Hurst and Exhall’s G Cox and A Hicks.
