PERSHORE Tennis Club members have a keen eye on this week’s Barclays ATP World Tour Finals men’s doubles.
Of the eight pairings at London O2 Arena, three were in the Pershore squad who reached the National Doubles League final in 2007.
Reigning Wimbledon champions Jonny Marray from Yorkshire and Dane Frederik Nielsen played once in the regional rounds.
Marray was due to play in the final against Royal Berkshire at Teesside but had to pull out through injury.
A more regular member was Pakistan number one Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, who partners Jean-Julien Rojer from Holland in London.
Qureshi made the US Open semis and they lost in the BNP Paribas Masters final.
He was Pershore’s most consistent player as they beat Cheadle and top seeds Bristol before losing to Royal Berkshire.
