BRETFORTON were out-of -sorts in the first-half but still stormed to a 5-1 home victory over Westberries seconds.
The unbeaten West Clubs Women’s League North Division leaders went ahead through Hayley Whitehouse.
But Westberries deserved their equaliser to leave Bret still seeking a first clean sheet of the season.
The hosts regained the lead from an unlikely source — skipper Kate Mitchell flew from central defence straight into the ‘D’ and fired home a stunning goal.
Bret settled into the second period quickly and Whitehouse got on the scoresheet again, connecting with a cross from Deb Slatter.
Westberries were denied by fine defending from Daisy Wheeler.
The Vale girls hit their stride with Karen Porter and Liz Murray-White shining.
Bret’s fourth goal came from player-of-the-match Slatter who picked up Lisa Workman’s pass, rounded the keeper and reverseflicked the ball home.
Workman bossed midfield and Whitehouse completed a fine hat-trick for the hosts who head to unbeaten Jaspers on Saturday.
- Badsey returned to Worcestershire Women’s League Division One action with a 3-3 home draw against highflying Worcester seconds.
In a fast, open game, Worcester caught the home side on their heels with a long ball and an opening goal.
Badsey regrouped and quickened their passing through Kay Amphlett, Shelly Banner and Laura Moore.
After several near-misses, captain Karen Robinson found the net.
Badsey goalkeeper Rachel Leeming made several saves before they took the lead prior to the break when Robinson powered into the circle to bury a great shot.
In the second-half, injury reduced Worcester to 10 players and a superb Fi Jordan pass reached Sarah Rickey whose pass was converted by Lynne Ellarby.
Badsey had more chances to extend their lead but Worcester levelled with two short-corner routines.
Defender Karen Moore was player-of-the-match for Badsey who head to Old Silhillians on Saturday (10am).
