Five-star Rangers seal win

MORETON Rangers completed a comfortable 5-0 win in a Gloucestershire Northern Senior Football League Division Two derby at Bourton Rovers.

Both teams had to adapt to a heavy pitch and it took Moreton 30 minutes before they were in control through a sharp finish by Ben Shurmer.

Shurmer doubled his tally with another good strike just before half-time and they upped their game in the second period.

Jon Neale added a third with a cross-shot and substitute Connor Sherry raced onto a through-ball to chip the advancing keeper.

The scoring was completed when Luke Bayliss crashed home a volley.

Meanwhile, Moreton Reserves edged a thriller 6-5 against Wellsbourne in Stratford Alliance Division Three with goals from Douglas Wallace (4), Martin Tomes and Dave Toon.
