Rivals' KO gives side title boost
7:20am Thursday 31st January 2013 in Sport
PERSHORE Rugby Club have been boosted in their pursuit of the Midlands Three West (South) top two.
While the Wyre Piddlebased side’s derby at Redditch was postponed, second-placed Old Leamingtonians slipped up.
Pershore, who go to south Birmingham side Woodrush on Saturday (2.15pm), now have two games in hand on the Leamington side and are eight points behind.
With Old Coventrians seemingly in control at the top of the table, Old Leamingtonians fell 24-22 at home to mid-table Pinley.
Meanwhile, Pershore Town Football Club head to sixthplaced Coventry Copsewood in the Athium Midland Combination Premier Division on Saturday (3pm).
Fifth-from-bottom Pershore’s last two games — against Bromsgrove Sporting and at home to Castle Vale JKS — have been postponed because of the weather.
