Brain double sees Fladbury go fourth

FLADBURY Athletic moved into fourth spot in Birdseye Sports Evesham Sunday League Division Two by defeating second-placed Stour Excelsior 3-1.

Brain (2) and Tom Heath scored for Fladbury with the visitors replying through Pratt.

With games in hand, Fladbury are well set for a promotion push.

Tewkesbury side WMK moved thlrd with a 3-1 victory over Lenches Lions as Sklenaar (2) and Leary scored the goals with Lions replying through Davies.

Tesco United recorded a 3-1 win over Cheltenham Saints with goals from Dovey, Sutherland and Charman.

Twine netted a consolation for Saints.

Pershore High Old Boys head Division Three following a nine-goal thumping of third-placed Gardeners Arms.

Old Boys’ goals came from Taylor (3), Ridings, Griffiths, Haines, Jones, Sheen and McGorrigan.

Offenham Rovers stay second as a Hall brace accounted for Ambassador, while Alex Trotman scored twice for Badsey Recreation as they won 2-0 at Fairfield.

Ashton picked up valuable points, defeating Salford Priors 4-1 with goals from Allison, Begley, Radford and White.

Broadway United look destined to qualify from Group ‘A’ of the Barry Brotherton Cup following a 4-1 victory at Evesham WMC.

Richard Craig hit a hattrick with Cooper adding a further goal for Broadway, while Ford scored for the Workies.

In Group ‘B’, Bretforton Old Boys opened their account with a four-goal win over Defford/Besford United with Clarke (2), Dell and Brain on target.

Bear reached the Worcestershire FA Sunday Minor Cup last four with three goals in the last five minutes to defeat Worcester and District League outfit Powick Reserves 5-3.

Broadway United Reserves lost 4-1 at Kidderminster and District League side Wilden Village Reserves.

Pershore Town host the Pershore Hospital Junior Cup semi-final between Defford/ Besford United and Broadway United on Sunday (7pm).
