LITTLETON threw the Athium Midland Combination Premier Division title race wide open with a 3-1 win at leaders Bromsgrove Sporting.
In front of a crowd of 271 on a pitch in remarkably good condition, Littleton, playing their first game since December 8 due to the weather, were full value for their win.
But they were indebted to keeper Jack Dell who made a superb save after five minutes to prevent the hosts making a flying start. Play was mainly confined to midfield with Sporting looking good.
But this all changed on 37 minutes when a wonderful first-time pass by Martin Slevin on the half-volley found Joe Lolley who beat three defenders, cut in from the right and carefully slotted the ball past the keeper.
On the stroke of halftime, it was 2-0 as Antonio Vernaschi received the ball 20 yards out and hit a powerful shot that went in.
Littleton were shocked at the start of the secondhalf as Bromsgrove halved the deficit within five minutes through substitute Jon Rogers.
The hosts looked for the equaliser but Littleton held firm and they had their chances at the other end as a Slevin free-kick hit the post.
With five minutes left, Littleton scored as a long ball over the top from Dan Trotman put Lolley through to fire home.
