Amy Stanton denied in nationals

BROADWAY ace Amy Stanton lost her grip on the national women’s under 25s indoor singles title in Bristol.

The two-time former winner started against Holly Arundel and won a tie-break with her last bowl.

But, against 15-year-old and eventual champion Chloe Wordingham, she dropped the first set by only one shot and then tied the second to relinquish her crown.

Stanton helped England to first place in the women’s under 25s home international series in Bromsgrove.

She won 19-18 and 21-12 as England beat Wales 92-51 and Scotland 67-63.
