PERSHORE enjoyed their best result yet in the Midlands Ladies’ Touch Rugby League.

They finished second out of seven teams in the season’s third tournament at Wellesbourne, near Stratford.

Pershore won three, drew two and lost one match while conceding only one try throughout to current champions Bromyard.

Third were Droitwich Spa ahead of Wellesbourne, Redditch, Stratford and Sutton Coldfield.

Try-scorers for Pershore were Sue Breay (2), Teresa Crowley (2), Emmie Bewley and Kate Tanner.

Before the tournament, the Vale side were third in the overall standings and now await their latest position ahead of the next contest on March 3 at Redditch.

Pershore, who train on Wednesdays from 7.30pm until 8.30pm, normally at Mill Lane, Wyre Piddle, will be the hosts on May 19.
