Poor run continues for squad

EVESHAM Rugby Club have slipped down to sixth in Midlands Three West (South) after three defeats in a row.

Following a disappointing 31-16 home loss to lowly Ledbury, they went down 27-11 to top-of-the-table Old Coventrians and fell 33-6 at secondplaced Old Leamingtonians last weekend.

The tough run of fixtures continues with Saturday’s visit to Kings Norton who are one of the sides to have overtaken them in the table.

At Old Leamingtonians, the Vale visitors made a slow start and conceded a try.

But they pressured the opposition well, earning and kicking two well-deserved penalties to take a 6-5 lead.

However, this turned out to be Evesham’s only points of the game with the final scoreline not reflecting a strong performance.

Playing 20 minutes with 14 men due to ill-discipline did not help their cause but positives could still be taken.
