COTSWOLD prospect Seymour Eric is set for March’s Cheltenham Festival after his fourth consecutive success.
The 7-2 victor followed up Hereford, Towcester and Huntingdon wins over the last two months in Haydock’s Pertemps Handicap Hurdle.
Winning trainer Martin Keighley, of Luckley, said of the seven-year-old: “He could go for the Pertemps Final at Cheltenham.”
- Former Northumberland Plate winner Tominator (9-4) finally delivered for Jonjo O’Neill by winning Sandown’s Reclaims UK Helping Soldiers Novices’ Hurdle.
He made a stuttering start with the Temple Guiting trainer but Tony McCoy galvanised the five-year-old.
O’Neill said: “We’ve got the novice route and might put him in some (Cheltenham) handicaps to have a look, but I’m worried he hasn’t had enough experience.”
