TEENAGER Amy Furness has taken the first steps in her quest to become a professional event rider by setting up a yard at Honeybourne.
After the 19-year-old enjoyed a successful 2012 with her top horse Landmark Abacus, they have been selected for the World Class Equine Pathway this year.
The programme identifies horses with the potential to develop into medal winners for Great Britain.
Furness will receive support from top coaches in her bid to be part of the GB eventing team at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
With the eventing season about to start, her first competition with Landmark Abacus is at Gatcombe as she targets a Young Riders European Championships place in Sweden.
The talented rider is building up a string of eventing horses with Cappucino, who she will be eventing at BE100 and novice level this season, as well as a five-year-old.
But Furness would be interested in hearing from anyone who has a horse to school, sell or compete at amyfurnesseventing@live.
