JOCKEY Sam Twiston- Davies ended trainer father Nigel's 18 winless days with a timely Bangor double before next week's Cheltenham Festival.

Nine-year-old Tullyraine, well beaten on his last couple of starts over fences, was a 15-2 victory over the smaller obstacles in the Weatherbys Bank Handicap Hurdle by twoand- a-half-lengths.

The Naunton-based Nigel Twiston-Davies, pictured below with The New One, completed the brace as 11-4 jointfavourite Tara Rose landed the Zuidam UK Novices’ Handicap Chase.

“It’s nice to get off the cold list just before Cheltenham,” said Sam Twiston-Davies.

“They’ve all been running well, we’ve just not had much luck and maybe a few of the horses have been running in the wrong races.”
